Mother with child vesselPeru, Moche II, ca. 200 - 400 AD
A fine, pottery, stirrup-spouted, figural vessel depicting a seated female holding a child in her left hand. Featuring a prominent nose, slit mouth and incised hair with one long braid over her back shoulder, the other over her right front. She wears a wide incised decorated necklace and large ear discs. Painted cream ground with brown and tan details.
Child's head reattached.
